Illustration Ideas For Your Fursona

So, you got yourself a fursona. You came up with a concept, made the reference sheet, and you are good to go. Now, you just need to draw it. Yeah, there is one problem with that: what is it that you should draw? Below are four cute ideas for your fursona that will surely end up adorable.

Worldbuilding Document For Your Fursona

While a fursona may be a representation for you, they are also a fantastic way to express yourself. Sometimes, this may mean that your fursona may be a slightly different person than you are. That, or they are a vastly different person. This doesn't make them any less of a representation of who you are, as the differences could come from the characters you love or who you wish to be.

But whether they are a simple animal, or they are a chaotic mass of parts that make no sense, creating a world for your fursona can open doors to what you can do with them and opportunities to explore yourself.

Fake Scene Screenshot

Charlie lying on the grass in a night scene, reaching up towards the camera with a melancholy look to him. There are subtitles that read: "The truth is. I can't reach the stars even if I wanted to. My wings are for show."

Making a fake screenshot of a scene can be a fun way to play with ideas and give your fursona a little more character. Plus, it makes for a fun way to tell a little story using only one image. You can let the visuals do all of the work, or you can add subtitles to indicate that there is some dialogue happening. Either way, the important part is that you are illustrating a moment. A small part of something bigger, even if that bigger thing doesn't exist.

Design Variants

Playing around with your fursona's design can be a fun way to give them different looks. Perhaps you want to see what they would be like n a different timeline, or perhaps you wish to put them in a silly little outfit that is not their norm. Perhaps they are wearing a costume, or they dyed their fur. No matter what it is, they will end up dressed up and add a little variety to the art depicting them!

Icons

What could be more fun than making silly little faces you can turn into stickers or use as emojis? Icons are quick to draw, and you can give your character a variety of cute expressions that way. They can add a personal touch to anything ranging from online interactions to your personal items, depending on if you turn those icons into anything else.

A Small Comic

Small comics are good ways you can convey messages or tell jokes. It's not like you need to make any grand story, either. You can very easily make a four-panel strip to share with your friends or online communities. People love art that has more to chew on than being a pretty picture, and while there are more ways to convey things than just comics, comics are a popular way to achieve that for a reason.

Conclusion

These are just a few inspirations you can use for your fursona, or any other character you created and adore. These are fun to do, even with fresh interpretations of popular characters that you wish to see a fresh take on.
