A List of Music Artists I Recommend

A List of Music Artists I Recommend

There are plenty of music artists out there who are amazing and deserve the spotlight. Some may be well-known, or they may be obscure. I personally don't keep up with what musicians are popular, so I can't say if these artists are underrated or not.

However, I still hope that the artists are a new experience to somebody out there like they were for myself, and they get a little more of that love they deserve. Perhaps I've been living under a rock, perhaps it's expected. Let's get started with a couple Italian artists, shall we?

Mahmood

There are many Italian artists I discovered while looking for Italian media to immerse myself with. Soldi is especially a standout from Mahmood due to the strong beat in the song.

Le Mondine

The harmony style with this trio is just lovely to listen to. It's not a style I'm used to, which makes it unique to me. It's honestly one of the most fun parts of exploring the culture of a language I'm studying: I get introduced to new ways artists do things, and they sound amazing.

Lupe Fiasco

Rap is a genre I recently decided to explore, as I felt a little silly for writing the entire genre off while listening to Professor Elemental. To the surprise of nobody, I found a diverse genre that varies more than what the stereotypes claim. Lupe Fiasco and Common both have a jazzy sound.

For Lupe specifically, his sense of rhythm is very satisfying to listen to.

Common

Aside from the jazzy sound of the track already mentioned, I can't articulate why I like Common, or at least, this song of his. I just do.

Steam Powered Giraffe

Finally, a band I have known for years. Steampunk is something I love, and the robot theming is a lot of fun. Their songs have a unique energy to it, and it's usually pretty cute. It's always a joy when they drop something new!

Conclusion

For the most part, I will let the music speak for themselves. Some of these artists are recent discoveries of mine as I explore genres and cultures outside of my comfort zone. Which, exploring art can be its own blog post entirely.
