The Best Blog Posts I Made (So Far)

One Year Anniversary of Dextive Blog

On April 10, 2025, I decided to start a blog. A space where I can yap about whatever captures my fancy when it comes to art, fandom, and culture. All things that I'm passionate about, and clearly, many people are as well. This blog's growth has been fairly steady, and I have hit over 500 views in a single month in March.

In all honesty, I did not expect things to come along this nicely. Sure, it may still be small potatoes, but that just means there is still plenty of room to grow. One day, this little blog won't be so small. With enough cultivation and time, even this anniversary post will reflect a stage in my career that I will grow out of.

So, to celebrate today and look forward to the future, here are a selection of the posts I made over the last 365 days.

The breakout hits

If the audience would choose what my best work this year was, it would probably be these two! They're the two that went a little viral and reached over 100 views.

  • This post is here to give you some things to do with your hands that require little money and effort on your part. Just relax and enjoy an activity as a break from the screen.

Cheap and Easy Craft Ideas

  • A topic that is ever relevant, this post is here to spread a little hope on a present that may seem so bleak but is temporary.

Why Artists Will Survive Gen AI

Personal passion pieces

When I write, my target demographic is myself. I have many interests, and many people share those interest. But sometimes, those interests are either niche and oversaturated, leading to my favorite posts also being some of my most underrated. If you're looking to read a piece of my soul, these are good snapshots.

  • Gushing over an infamous radio play. If you get the chance, I highly recommend listening to it. It didn't cause a panic by being poorly written or poorly performed.

The Genius That Is War of the Worlds

  • I will always and forever spread the "illustrators should double as photographers" propaganda. This is a hill I'm more than willing to die on.

Benefits of Getting Into Photography as an Artist

  • Another hill I will die on and propaganda I shall spread. People formed a community over loving anthropomorphic cartoon animals, and there are those bitter about it. They are some of the sweetest people on Earth, and- look, just read the post, alright?

Inspiration for All

The "useful" posts. I often share advice, wisdom, and inspiration. They may not necessarily be passion pieces, but they are marketable and sharing my knowledge does feel nice.

  • A crossover with personal passion pieces, in all honesty. I poured my heart and soul into this one.

Dear Beginner Artist; On Finding an Art Style

  • If you tell me I'm part dragon, I might just believe you. I love collecting things! If that is the kind of thing you wanted to get into, these are good for beginners.

Great Things to Collect

  • Funnily enough, there is a way that has already poisoned AI in ways Glaze and Nightshade just haven't, and it's all about color.

Conclusion

I know there are weeks I skipped and times when I took a little break, I am a single human at the end of the day. I'm sure if I was perfect, my blog would be a little bigger than it is. Yet again, it might not be. It ultimately does not matter, as the first year was overall strong and perfection is an impossible pursuit anyhow.
